I love these things! I should say that I am not an electrician, so take that with a huge grain of salt, but for a person who does some work around the house, these are a big time saver over wire nuts (and also take up less volume in cramped boxes). The success of WAGOs has led to many similar items, some good, some bad, but WAGO still has advantages over their competition (known reliability, compactness, being able to see the wires, and having the ability to poke a test lead into them). For cost sake, I don't mind using other wire nuts in low voltage projects or testing, but for anything that will be permanent, I stick with these. I also keep a few with my multimeter, since they make testing things much simpler and reliable vs alligator clips or worse. They seem simple, but they are genius, and just work.

Yes, the price per unit seems high to me, but I'm not that good at soldering wire splices and the amount of time these save was totally worth it to me for my hobby work.

Good quality wire connectors. Easy to connect wires and the transparent finish makes it way to see if the wire sits correctly in the connector. Makes wire connections secure and they saved us time when doing a reno.

Wago 221 are my go-to for wiring. No more wire nuts! They are pretty fool proof, hold well, and make it easy to join different types of wire without worry. These are especially good for stranded to solid connections, or different wire gauges. In particular, when you're wiring up a light fixture, trying to hold it with one hand and connect the wires with your other hand - these make it quick and painless. They don't twist up the wire or damage it in any way, so you can connect / disconnect repeatedly without issue. Also easy to check to see if you have a good connection (just tug on the wire). Throw out those old wire nuts - once you use these you'll never go back. Yes, they are more expensive, but worth it for the safety and speed of installation.

Item ReviewedWAGO 221-412/VE00-2500 221 Series 2 Conductor AWG 24 – 12 Transparent Body ConnectorI first saw these when watching a how to video.They work especially well for connecting solid wire to stranded wire.Great for replacing light fixtures.Very easy to remove and install.I have a couple of peanut butter jars full of Marrettes (Wire Nuts) that have been in my garage for decades and I did use them occasionally use them.Since I started using these Wago Lever nuts, I have been burning through them. Have had to restock a couple of times now.Have started using these instead of alligator clips when testing / making temporary connections as they hold more securely and also eliminate the risk of accidental shorting.I did try another brand but find these to be better quality and easier to use.Great Product - Highly Reccomend
