Got this for a diy stair tread/riser project. Perfect price point and performance for my needs. Nice plunge and angle adjustments. Takes a long time to spin up compared to my regular circular saw, but has plenty of power to cut my bamboo stair treads. Interesting that it comes with brush replacements. Could be handy with no down time waiting for parts. The dust collector does a pretty good job, but don't expect dust free operation.

I bought this track saw after seeing some youtube reviews saying it was a decent saw for the price and not wanting to spend several hundred or into the low thousands for a hobbyist woodworker. I wanted a track saw to break down larger sheet goods so I could get them onto the table saw for final dimensions and my existing circular saw simply wasn't capable of making accurate, square cuts. At the price, I did not have high expectations but was pleasantly surprised at how well this saw functioned and the quality of cuts it produced when making a cabinet-style frame for a closet organizer. I quickly was able to trust the accuracy and squareness of the saw for making final cuts on some of the side panels and the end-results was just as good as my cast-iron top table saw. I cut the panels on 1-1/2" foamboard, and had no tear out when cutting with or against the blade using the included stock blade. I have not tried to do any beveled cuts or use this on hardwoods. If you are like me and want an easy and accurate way to cut down large sheet goods, I would highly recommend this saw. I also recommend getting a dust collection hose that has some flexibility in sizing as my shop vac and other attachments did not quite fit the dust hose on the saw.

If you are going to use this occasionally to break down sheet goods or make long cuts in wood that doesn't easily work with a table saw this should be okay for you. But if you need to use a track saw often then spend more money and get a better-quality system.- The saw sounds like there's a bearing about ready to blow out the side of it. All the knobs are plastic and seems like it's a matter of time before one of them breaks.- The track seems like decent quality, but if you need to use both parts you can't just take the two pieces of track, bolt them together and expect them to be aligned properly. You need to keep the track joiners a little bit loose so you can get the tracks to be completely straight and aligned with each other and then rig something up to keep the middle of the track stable as you're running the saw along the track. It will work for occasional use, which is what I need it for in my workshop. But as I stated above, if you're a professional woodworker or have a need for a track saw more often then spend the money to get something higher quality.

Muy buena herramienta... No tengo comparación con otras del mismo tipo, pero me fue de gran ayuda si cortar parota de 4", con ayuda de las guías los cortes quedaron perfectos y precisos... La recomiendo ah 100

I've been fighting with my circular saw using a guide to do long rips and accurate cross cuts. I don't have a table saw yet and definitely didn't have the budget for a Makita or Festool track saw so I decided to give this Wen a try.First off, I am VERY happy I went with the 7.25" blade. Not only does it allow for deeper 45 degree cuts but it also has the variable speed setting.I quickly replaced the blade. It's not great. Got a Diablo blade and threw the Wen blade into a blade bin just in case I ever need it in a pinch. The Wen blade left a lot to be desired. That said, I'd probably replace a Festool blade too.I will say I didn't get the Wen tracks. I just didn't like what I saw so I went with the PowerTec tracks which aren't much more and seem to be a much better build.Quick story about the durability of this saw: I had 2 saw horses set up with rigid foam on top as my sacrificial surface. I didn't consider how far the foam was overhanging the sides of the saw horses and when I set the saw on the side edge of the foam the foam (that I have ripped into two manageable pieces) teetered over a bit and it was just enough for the track saw to fall and come crashing down on my concrete floor. The saw handle broke but not all the way. It was sort hanging on by a flap of rubber. Some JB Weld fixed that right up and made it as strong as ever. However, the surprising part despite the gnarly fall and tumble of the saw, IT STILL CUTS SQUARE! Absolutely blown away by the durability and precision of this saw.Sure, ultimately I'd love to get a Festool track saw down the road (who wouldn't??) but until I can justify such an expensive purchase this Wen track saw is doing a damn fine job. So far all of the inaccurate cuts I've made are user error because I trusted a factory edge of my MDF/Plywood. So, pro tip if you're new to track saws: ALWAYS create a new edge as a reference for your square/track because where it might seem square it could actually be very off. So if you cut a few millimeters off one edge and use that to line up the track with a square you'll have a very good result!

I researched quite a bit before buying this saw, track, and clamps. For the amount of panel breakdown I do (minimal), I felt this saw would easily fulfill my needs. Upon opening the box I was impressed with the build quality and features. It wasn't until I plugged it in and pulled the trigger that my favorable first impression diminished rapidly. The saw I received has a knocking sound and also a knocking feeling in the handle. After letting it spin down, I realized there is quite a bit of "gear slop" in the "transmission". The output shaft of the motor has a pinion gear on it which drives a larger gear on the blade arbor shaft. The mesh/backlash, or gap between the gear teeth, is too great. You can tell this by slowly rotating the blade back and forth. You can feel the looseness as the arbor gear teeth swing back and forth between the motor gear teeth (pinion). This swing back and forth will damage the gears over the long haul when in operation and is the source of the knocking I was hearing and feeling.I have a 50 year old heavy Black and Decker saw and a 15 year old Milwaukee saw that have a quarter of the slop this brand new Wen has. I will likely send this thing back and hope the replacement has better mesh/backlash between the gears.-jpEdit #1:So, after writing the aforementioned, I decided to return this saw and ask for a replacement. The replacement has arrived and I've compared the two. The newer one is, indeed, quieter and has less of a knocking feeling in the handle. I was able to compare the degree of "slop" between the two saws and found the first unit has approximately 7.5 deg before the teeth engage. The replacement is closer to 5 or 6 deg. Not a tremendous improvement, but better. For the price, I'm pleased with the features and performance of the saw. Given the price, features, and improvement I've changed my rating from 2 to 4. Thanks Amazon for your great warranty service.Edit #2:Ok, well, the replacement saw has become very disappointing. I have used it extensively twice now. Both times, the saw travels 12-24 inches and then stops spinning. I release the trigger, pull again, and it starts right up...only to stop again another 12-24" down the board. Sometimes its shorter, sometimes its longer. I have varied the motor rpm, it does it at any speed. I have done it under heavy load and light load, still happens. I've switched receptacles in the shop, still does it. Consulted the manual for troubleshooting, nothing there. This happened ONE DAY after the Amazon return/refund time period expired. I've contacted Wen for support. I'll report their response. I really want to like this saw but its getting more difficult.
