Purchased to cut a hole in some flagstone for a fountain. Got one hole cut (1.5-2” thick flagstone). Had water running over the whole thing while I was drilling the hole. It took probably 15 or 20 minutes and it looks great, however, the majority of the diamonds are gone from the bed. It’s basically a $50 hole. My goal was to draw several of these holes but my goal is being revised because I cannot afford to drill one a hole for $50 over and over.

If your looking for an SDS Plus adapter you will need more than 2/3" of threads.EDiamond Tools has an adapter. It is not cheap: Core Drill Adapter 5/8"-11 Male to SDS Plus for Core BitsIt can be found at:https://smile.amazon.com/Drill-Adapter-Hammer-Rotary-Drilling/dp/B01F4IQQUA?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1

I'm planning on using some of the native limestone on my property to make a water feature that looks like a natural spring. I used this bit to bore through one that was about 8" thick and then chisel around it for practice before I work on the one I will install permanently. Driven with a Bosch SDS Plus hammer drill through a 5/8-11 arbor, I had no trouble going through it in 10-15 minutes. I did take it slow and kept a hose on it the whole time. You can see in the picture that the bit made a nice round hole, though it left a little of its red paint on the sides, easily removed. I did not see the very helpful idea of using bored-out wood as a guide, but I will probably try that. Also though, since the sides of the bit are smooth and wet, and since the bit has no "teeth" as such, you can simply use your hand to guide it. The 1½" bit I bought turned out to be a little oversized for 1" PVC, so I'm buying another one that's 1-3/8 for the final cut.

I recieved this bit promptly. The only hiccup was the drill thread adapter needs to be specific as threads are deeper than most. I asked Ediamond for a part number and they responded quickly with the correct adapter. I used this bit to cut two holes in a brick stoop to install a metal handrail. I was expecting each hole to take a fairly long time but the bit went through two layers of brick and then concrete base with ease only taking about half hour a hole. I made a template from 2x6 lumber and dripped a little water in the hole. It helped quite a bit to drill lifting a small amount (1/4")frequently almost like a hammering motion. Worked well for me.
