Truly a minimalist shoe, I can really feel the ground through the shoe. The only downside to the shoe is its not grippy and loses traction with sliding even on something like wet asphalt. Good for the price.

I bought these shoes and immediately took them to 2 double black diamond hiking trails. They gripped the rocks and gravel like gecko's feet. The soles are hard enough to protect me from sharp rocks but soft enough that I can feel the terrain.They felt comfortable out of the box. I did not have to break them in. I just put them on and walk a few very rough miles. If you are not used to barefoot shoes, you should take it easy first.They don't get hot, my feet stay cool.Most barefoot hiking shoes look fugly, like water shoes that are trying too hard. Like a designer trying to stand out and reaching uncanny valley. Not these, they look great. I can walk into a restaurant without feeling self-conscious.I love these shoes. They are by far the best hiking shoes I have ever had.

These affordable, simple, shoes have done more to improve my foot health than any other shoe I have ever owned. It takes a moment to rediscover how your feet really want to work for you- particularly if you have been down the super shoe route - but give these shoes a few weeks and your feet will thank you. The experience of wearing them is at first odd, like going barefoot but without the worry of injury. Your gate has to change a little. I started by just wearing them around the house but now prefer to also wear them out. I still put on my traditional running shoes for running and long walking, but every other opportunity to wear these makes me happy. Doing things like pressing my arches on the edge of steps feels like a gentle message now. The only issues I have are the shoe strings are too short and tend to come untied. The sole to side bond is holding up well and have not started to separate. If they do, I will buy another. At around $40 a pair I can have three or four pair before I outspend the cost of my other shoes.

I really like these shoes, would be 5 star s but the laces are too short. I needed to loosen mine for a little extra room and it left me with barely enough lace to make a knot.
