I don't know who's idea it was to put quick release axles on bike wheels, but it was not a good idea. I've always carried an extra long cable lock to prevent my wheels from being stolen when I lock my bike up. This upgrade has helped to alleviate that fear. The skewers fit perfectly, and will make it much harder for any would-be thieves to steal my wheels.

I put these on a bike I need to lock up, it makes me feel better knowing someone can’t just pop open one of my wheel skewers.

Who makes an ebike with Quick Release skewers? I mean like really? So I picked up this set to replace those and secure the wheels. This is a good set for sure, just enough fuss to ward off the casual or opportunistic thief. Just check your sizes first and get the right size.

Very pleased. I ride a rim brake road bike that is less than 15 pounds with clipless pedals, bottle cages and cycling computer installed. To me weight matters. I tried these before I eventually bought the titanium version here on Amazon. They take a minute or two to get used to, but once you have them in position it’s pretty easy to tighten them down. I ride these in spirited group rides in the Southern California racing bike scene and I have no complaints about them. I keep the 4mm Hex key in my pocket or in my saddle bag when I use one. Like I said, I eventually went for the Ti version of these. So that I am not confused I purchased the steel skewers in black and I bought the Ti skewers in red. No regrets, just different and lighter weight. Yes, I would recommend.
