This USB to TTL Serial Converter Adapter is a great quality product that works exactly as expected. It’s easy to use, and setup was straightforward without any issues. I primarily use it for Arduino projects, and it has performed flawlessly every time. The connection is stable, and data transfer is smooth and reliable. Got this module for talking to newer risc-v devices that seem to like very high baud rates (like 2Mbps) and it works well for that, I was able to test up to 3Mbps as indicated by the FTDI datasheet. This seems to be a legitimate device and Windows will automatically install the correct virtual com port driver. If you need direct access, the direct driver can be downloaded from FTDI's website very easily. The included jumpers are a nice bonus as is the USB cable (although it's a bit short). Switching between 3.3v and 5v using a jumper is a great idea but not without an issue, in fact the reason I'm deducting a star is because the most important pin labels are mostly hidden from view because of that jumper. It's possible to see them with a lot of light but just in case here are the pin labels from left to right with the pin headers pointing down: DTR, RX, TX, VCC, CTS, GND.Overall, I think it's a great board and an amazing value.

Works flawlessly!Not every project has enough IO's, or a dedicated TTL to USB set of pins. In those cases, this TTL to USB converter is needed. Programming my device was easy, and straight forward. No additional drivers were needed, Win10 immediately picked up the device, and it worked instantly.

If you need a low cost USB to serial converter that JUST converts USB to serial, then this will work fine for you. If you need to use FT-Prog to set up custom VIP or PID, or program any other function, this won't work. This board uses a counterfeit chip that cannot be programmed. The serial number comes up in FT-Prog as A5069RR4 which a quick google search will show is a common serial number used in counterfeit devices. Trying to program in FT-Prog will show "programming successful" then the chip will show default programming again. If you are looking for a real FT232RL chipset for your project, look elsewhere.
