Attached it to our back door so we can tell if we (or someone) left it open, even if we're traveling. The phone app is simple and works fine. Installation is easy-peasy, though I did have to attach a extra piece of thick tape on the larger door component, so that it would line up correctly with the component attached to the doorframe.

Been using this for a little while now and I like them. Good peace of mind knowing that you will be notified if the door is opened when you leave. Also good if you have school aged children who now come home after school so you can keep tabs.Initially I thought it was an alarm but these send an alert to your phone through an app and can also send as text. You can alter the noise so that it can make more of a distinct sound. It would be nice if I could preset the sounds to change automatically from the day time to night time so that at night I could get more of a strong alarming sound to wake me, but I haven't found a way to do it.So far they are working very well, and were very easy to set up for me.

Excellent build quality at a reasonable price and very easy to set up. The only criticism I have is about the mounting tape. It works too well as I found out when I removed the finger to slightly adjust its' position and it took the paint off right along with it. Not to worry though. It was on a garage wall. I did however use a double sided clear tape that can be removed easily to mount the other devices. A warning about the extreme grip of the included tape might be in order.All the devices I have purchased have performed flawlessly.YoLink first came to my attention when I watched Brian Read of Automate Your Life review YoLink products, I had been struggling with Smartthings and YoLink is the perfect replacement for my uses. The ease of use and setup allows people with marginal technical skills to begin automating their homes. Home automation will only take off when it becomes as easy as plugging in a new TV set. YoLink has taken a giant stride in that direction. I have contact sensors on outside doors, on a freezer door, motion sensor controlled lights in one room so far and a temperature and humidity monitor mounted in a protected spot on a covered patio. I also use a YoLink Finger to control my garage door. Changes in the state of these devices are announced on an Echo Show 8. I'm sure there will be many more YoLink products added soon.Another small mention. I noticed in several reviews on Amazon that people reported trouble scanning the QR codes. I had the same problem but discovered that the problem was that the place I was trying to do the scan, directly under a smart bulb set at 80% brightness, was too brightly lit. The problem was likely not the QR code but the camera on my cell phone. Moving to a room with only daylight filtered through a curtain cured the problem. The scan was instantaneous under those lighting conditions.

I was looking for a door sensor to alert me when my son went outside. He is developmentally disabled and must be supervised at all times for his safety.We tried some inexpensive alarm style sensors but the alarm was so shrill many household members turned them off rendering them useless. We considered a home security system but found it to be too expensive for what we really wanted it to do. (We do not want / need monitoring or motion sensors / video. Just an alert each time a door is opened)The Yolink smart sensor door alarm looked like it might be an inexpensive, effective way to monitor the doors to our home.We’ve been using it a week and so far it’s been great! It was easy to install, easy to configure with my phone, and has reliably alerted me each time the door has been opened. (Text message sent each time, I just changed the tone in my contacts so I know without looking at the phone that a door has been opened) Mission accomplished. As an added bonus I love the alert when a door is left open. I didn’t even realize how many times a day the kids were neglecting to close doors!The only thing we want it to do that is currently not in place is to send an audible alert in the home when my phone is not there. I mistakenly thought I’d be able to set this up with ifttt using my google home mini. So we are looking into a workaround with Home Assistant or possibly adding an Alexa device to accomplish the task. Can’t locate an ifttt compatible chime/alarm product to do the trick. Might add a smart plug attached to an always on radio to accomplish the goal.Summary: this product is working as described and very effectively for our needs. If we can find a way to make an audible indicator in the home when my phone is on silent or not at home it will be perfect. Even without that it’s a five star product.

Since this package was inexpensive, I bought it to try out smart home system. The package arrived a day earlier. It included a YoLink hub, a plug mini switch, a door sensor, and a water leak sensor. All parts seemed well constructed.The installation was quite straight forward and all parts worked properly as described. The yolink app interface on my phone was quite clean and it showed the statuses of all three sensors on one screen. The hub was the communication central for all sensors. The plug mini worked as a remote-controlled power switch that I could control on/off through a slide switch on my phone screen. The plug does have a manual on/off pushbutton switch on the side. The door sensor worked just like a regular magnetic alarm switch that I could monitor its status on my phone. The water leak sensor was a square pad that had electrical terminals on both sides that I could use to detect water leak from the ceiling or on the floor. The leak sensor construction seems waterproof but I have not tested it.I ran into installation problems at beginning because I made two mistakes as a result of not reading the hub installation guide careful enough. First I installed the wrong app from the google play store. There were two apps in the store: the yosmart app and the yolink app. I searched "yosmart" and installed the yosmart app, and off course it didn't work. After that I searched "yolink" and installed the yolink app, the hub installation was very easy. I do recommend to read and follow the hub user guide first before installation. After the mini plug installation, I could install the other two sensors without reading the user guides. Second I encountered wireless connection problem because my phone selected the 5GHz wifi frequency band automatically. After I set my phone to use the 2.4GHz band manually, the connection worked with no problem.I did ran into two minor problems that I was sure if they were caused by my side. I downloaded the user guides in pdf using my mobile phone easily. However, for reason unknown I was not able to download the pdf guides by typing in the address links of the user guides on my windows 10 PC, I got "emply file" error message. I had no problem following the same steps with android phone. I ended up transferring the pdf user guides from my phone to my PC as I preferred to read them on bigger screen. Another problem concerned with the user guide QR-code for the water leak sensor. My phone camera could not decode the QR code, both the one printed on the packaging box and the one on the quick start guide included with the sensor. I ended up typing in the user guide address link directly on my phone as the link was the same as the other sensors, except the sensor model number in the link. I had no problem with the user guide QR codes for the hub, the plug, and the door sensor. I could read all the user guides on PC by searching with the key "user guide"; however, they were shown in the smaller screen ebook format, and not the in pdf format that I could read with full screen.Since I have not used the system long enough, I could not comment on the reliability of the system at this time. For now I give it 5 stars as everything worked as stated; I do not think the minor problems I encountered are sufficient to knock one star off. I will update in the future as necessary.
