The encoder packaging was a little beat up when it arrived. Encoder looked OK on the outside. Label on the encoder is in Chinese identifying the wire colors. Found a diagram buried within the Amazon description of the product. Attached 5vdc according to the description and monitored channel A and B while turning the shaft. No output. I will be returning it and will purchase another from a different vendor.

Works as advertised. Not very rugged build design. Cheaply built enclosure

Do not buy. Wired it up - got sporadic or non-existing readings. Opened up the casing to find power wasn't not even reaching the board (I double checked the wiring through the rest of the circuit to ensure power was being delivered). Encoder disk also bent. Where is the quality control?
