It was scratched up when it arrived but the reason I returned it was it didn't work in my application. I looked at several units and I failed to see that the measuring unit were not what I wanted and did have small enough increments. If you are looking for accuracy to less than 12 inches this is not for you. I didn't feel this was well described.
