I am an experienced origami folder.These birds are skillfully folded and very attractive. However, they are not the traditional Japanese Crane pattern that goes back to at least 1797. These birds have an extra angle in the tail and the neck. If that isn't significant to you, then I can happily tell you that these are lovely birds. (I don't think they are made from traditional origami paper, but that's just a side note.) I very much like the proportion and angle of the head. The wings and neck are nearly vertical. I prefer a bigger angle, so I adjust my birds accordingly.They come loose and flat in a cellophane bag. You open the birds by pulling gently on their wings until the back widens enough for the bird to stay open. Then they are ready for whatever you want to do with them.

This product comes with 100, that's right, one hundred mostly folded origami swans. The positive part is that I actually found putting them together very relaxing. The negative was that my fingers were slightly sore after, but it was worth the tradeoff.While these might just be folded pieces of paper, I think the quality is excellent. I was even told that if you folded 1000 of them, and I guess some people string them up, you will receive good luck. While I can't verify such a claim, I'm sorted of tempted to try.

These were amazing quality for the price. Worked well for what we needed them for and would recommend if you don't want to fold 100 origami cranes.

These birds are advertised as almost 4" in size, and they are only 2," which is too small to use for place cards, which is what I bought them for.
