This thing went from my bass shaking the whole house like an earthquake to me being able to play hip hop at 6am and nobody wakes up in the house

I purchased the Subdude as my last "hail Mary" before potentially being forced to replace my subwoofer with a higher-end sealed sub. I was experiencing ongoing bothersome bass issues with one of my home theatre setups. Hardwood floors with a Paradigm front firing, rear-ported sub, in the front corner of the room, resulting in boomy, uncontrolled bass. It was like this ugly wall of loose, muddy bass was consuming the whole front wall where my TV is, then reflecting to my seating position. Due to the room configuration, I do not have other options for placement of the sub.I started looking into room treatment options but there was no way I was going to install ugly wall mounted bass traps in a main floor family room, opposite a kitchen.I was wondering if the sub was transferring too much energy to the floor, which was then moving to the walls, causing additional resonance, generating additional sound waves, resulting in the terrible sound. I didn't have these issues when the sub was in my basement.I read hundreds of postings in different AV forums and countless reviews about the Subdude and how it will 'tighten up' bass, etc. I was thinking there's no way it can tighten up the bass but if it could potentially reduce vibrations, maybe there could be some value. Some 'haters' on the forums will say the subdude is useless and people's perception of the sound is strictly psychological. After reading a review from a professional publication, where they noted they always use an Aurelex Subdude when reviewing subwoofers, I decided to take a the plunge and gamble almost $90 on this product because I had nothing more to lose... it couldn't possibly make the sub sound worse.I installed the Subdude, actually upped the volume on my sub by 1 notch, then re-ran Audyssey room correction on my receiver, so the gain would be at -4. SVS recommends adjusting gain on the subwoofer so post calibration, it's set between -4 to -8, so I took their advice for my Paradigm sub. After manually adjusting speaker crossover settings in my receiver, I was ready to test. The sound quality difference was drastic. That ugly "wall" of bass I referred to earlier is completely gone. I am finally enjoying my sub in this room. The bass is now much cleaner and is not longer an annoying distraction. The bedroom above the sub also has less bass transfer via the walls but loud low frequency soundwaves will still easily penetrate through the floorboards.Although it may be cheaper to go to the hardware store, get a piece of wood, put some foam under it and built it yourself, I'm not sure you would get the same results, as this is firm acoustic foam and not something your furniture would be shipped in.Not all rooms are the equal. You'll have different furniture, flooring material and objects that affect sound reflection and absorption, so your results may be different but this Subdude solved my issue and saved me from potentially dropping $1000+ buying a new sub and I may have ended up with the exact same issues. I was hoping the Subdude would give a marginal improvement in sound. I was shocked how much difference it made in my situation. I'm now considering buying another Subdude for a different subwoofer. No regrets.

Recomendado
