Originally, I bought a similar lock that was even flatter--the cylinder didn't protrude like it does here. But that's a problem, because my smartlocks (Simplisafe) cannot work with it. Whereas most locks have one pin that attaches the outside lock to the inside lock, those low profile have two.This lock has one.This means I can use it with a smartlock.It was a snap to re-key to match my other doors, and simple to install. Best of all, it's really attractive.

We wanted to contrast our Side driveway entry door and it looks fantastic. The look was minimalist for either traditional or modern look, so that was a key with this style choice. We also had a white exterior door and wanted to have a contrast color. Our brushed nickel deadbolt & handle were just not the look we wanted but this black does the look exactly we wanted. The instructions were easy and the Smartkey was also a selling point in which you can use your existing key by following the instructions. We purchased the handle for this deadbolt which is sold separately.
