I dive Northern California, and have worn this in waters down to 49F. I run very warm and dont tend to really ever feel cold diving, I wear a 7/5 typical wetsuit in those conditions and this hood was a sufficient match. Even for me Im not sure Id wear it if water was maybe 47 or below or it might not be enough, but its good for anything warmer and light enough to use right through temps where many people might opt for no hood. Used to be I hated wearing thick neoprene hoods as I could never hear anyone on the surface. This is SO much thinner and comfortable, I dont notice wearing it almost at all.

The photo is misleading as it seems the neck portion is longer than it is. You have to pay for the return. Otherwise seems like a good product.
