Holds up well under weathered use. We ran power to this box and then put a power strip in the box and ran cables out of it through the protected output channels. The case when clicked into lock mode is watertight and protects the cables and power strip inside. We use these in different places around our house for safety and this one does the job really well and has plenty of space inside for cables and a full power strip.

Update: I don't know how I missed this but this can be hung as one of the long sides has no ports & keyholes that do not enter the interior are provided on the back side. Very happy to hang this , love even more! Also the sticker on the case glows in the dark!Game Changer. This is so cool with ability to house an entire power strip (am using a two row strip that is made for heavy duty use. ) Many ports for cables to enter unit. Box is meant to be used with the clear top upwards. Do Pay attention to instructions and mind the rubber gaskets for your cables & also do not take wires from the box in an upward direction. Wires must at least have a down loop immediately after leaving this box to ensure rainwater does not follow the cable into the box. The box has no drain holes, so you do want to be sure you do not get water entering from missing port rubbers or poorly routed wires!! I have alot of construction going on almost always as I am building my homestead mostly on my own. To make it easier to pick up working on various projects I generally have power running out to partially done buildings, tents or rougher work areas that have no covered areas yet at all. At the rougher work sites I often have used buckets or tables to cover power strips or mount them underneath so that they do not get wet and trip GFCI circuits. but these can blow over or be forgotten about too often. This kind of box is exactly what i have needed to keep things a bit safer from rain. This box would be excellent for holiday lighting, vending setups, events etc . Anywhere power supplies need to be setup short to long term and may encounter weather- I had multiple breaker trips this year due to rain during the holidays and this box would have been super handy during the holidays!! The end-to-end wrap type covers are the only type of weather protective devices Ive had up till this one. These are great I will definitely be getting more of these types of boxes!! I would defiantly order this again! it has a fairly large capacity a holds most standard sized power strips can also use 3way taps or house power supply warts very easily there is plenty of room in the box to do all of these together if need be! I am using this with a 2x2 mini tarp staked over top - because I worry a lot -also Its just extra insurance and hopefully will help it last longer- I will be using this box fulltime over the next year. It is set up so that I do not have to get into it at all! -each cord leaving the box is switched work light or a switched extension cord that is left hanging inside the equipment cover. My biggest issue before was not having enough outlets to keep everything set up.

I got this box to protect non-waterproof electrical components for our outdoor open patio lighting systems. It is not what it is advertised to be…WATERPROOF.The box is well molded plastic with a good fitting lid and strong latches. It has plenty of room for power strips, transformers, wires, and plugs. The cord pass-through strain relief features work well and part of the mechanism is replaceable (2 replacements are included). The short sides accommodate two cords each on either side of the latch. Only one long side has provisions for three cords. The blank long side is intended for facing up if the box is mounted on a vertical surface or you can mount it with the lid side up.You cannot mount the box with any of the other sides facing up or the box will take on water. This is where my issue is with the design. The intended “waterproofing” is a half-circular rubber flap on the lid and the same geometry is on the box. When installed together, the flaps overlap and around the cord. This technique seals mostly around the cord, but leaves two small openings where the flaps come together. Water can enter through these two openings at each cord.Because of this flaw, I will not be using this product for my original purpose. Instead, I will use it as a temporary, water-resistant cord protector when working on projects outside in a wet environment.
