Once key was cut twice the dreaded part came. Narrowing down key programmer in my town. Cost $80 and he was also able to give my door access code. Dealers don't want to deal with programming keys older than 10 yrs. Never never make mistake when buying new car and not get 2nd key. You will pay dearly for that mistake

Zero stars. Although the product description informs that fob must be programmed by a dealer, the item itself does not comport to Ford proprietary programming software. So, in addition to wasting $19.95 on the item, I paid $79.95 at the dealer only to find it is not compatible with Ford software. Yes, you can cut the key to fit your doors, and it can be programmed to run the peripherals. So if you just want to sit in your car and listen to music with the air on, that’s fine, but if you want to actually drive the vehicle, this product does not have the correct electronic chip to accept the programming. If you still want to try it after reading this, make sure you get it to the dealer within 30 days of purchase or, like me, you won’t even be able to return it.*Buried somewhere in the listing, it does say it will not program if the vehicle has an “ignition guard” but it is my understanding that all newer vehicle have an ignition guard as part of the vehicle protection. My Ford is 13 years old and must have an ignition guard, so how old must a vehicle be to not have it?

Not the quality of ford but programmed and works proper. **** update hasn't been long maybe a couple months and it quit working. Tried new battery. I'd be scared to try another one.

My Sport Trac had a key and then a separate fob to open the doors. I wanted to have fewer items on my keychain and this key helped. I was able to easily program the key to start the truck, and then (separate steps) also program the key to lock/unlock the doors. Steps for both tasks are below. The key works perfectly, and I'm happy that I was able to able to do the programming myself rather than paying big bucks to the dealership. For a 2007 Ford Sport Trac XLT:To program the key to start the truck:1. You must have 2 keys that are already coded to start the truck.2. Take one of the already coded keys and put it in the ignition.3. Turn it to position 3 for at least 3 seconds, but less than 10 seconds.4. Within 10 seconds, take the 1st key out of the ignition and put the second pre-coded key in.5. Turn it to position 3 for at least 3 seconds, but less than 10 seconds.6. Within 10 seconds, take the 2nd key out of the ignition and put this new, uncoded key in.7. Turn it to position 3 for at least 3 seconds, but less than 10 seconds, then take it out of the ignition. You should now be able to start the truck with any of the 3 keys.At this point, I was able to start the truck, but the key did not lock/unlock the doors. I had to also do the following to make the key lock/unlock the doors. To program the key to lock/unlock the doors:VERY IMPORTANT: ****You must have ALL the remotes that you want to be able to use to lock/unlock the doors available for this process. Any remotes that are not involved in this process will no longer work.****1. With all remote devices in hand, close all the doors to the truck.2. Use one of the remotes and press the UNLOCK button.3. Insert a coded key into the ignition.4. VERY QUICKLY, turn the key to position 3, back to 1, back to 3, etc. 8 times. Finish with the key in position 3. You must complete this within 10 seconds.5. After the key has cycled to position 3 the 8th time, the doors will lock and unlock to confirm programming mode has been engaged. (the first couple times I did this I wasn’t cycling between OFF and position 3 fast enough, so the doors didn’t lock/unlock)6. Within 20 seconds, push any button on one of the remotes (such as this key). The doors will lock and unlock to confirm the remote is programmed.7. Within 20 seconds, push any button on the second remote. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm the remote is programmed.8. You can repeat this for a total of up to 6 remotes.9. When done, turn the key in the ignition to OFF. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm programming mode has ended. At this point, my new key both started the truck and would lock/unlock the doors.
