I have several pairs of these Columbia pants in a size 10 that I purchased several years ago. I have loved them because they are very comfortable and fit me well, but they were getting a little ragged looking. So I bought these in both a 10 and a 12 as replacements. Columbia has completely changed the cut and sizing of these pants. Even the 12 was way too tight in the waist, and the crotch length seemed very short for me as I am short-waisted. They might work for someone who has a small waist compared to their hips, but they certainly do not work on my apple-shaped body. Returned them both.

I have 3 pair of these in a 10 and love them. Light weight. Forgiving. Can dress up or down. I’ve gained weight so ordered 12s in the black and taupe. They 12s are SMALLER than my 10s. Smaller all over. Couldn’t even get them up. The black and taupe both too small so not an issue of having the wrong size marked. I’ve now ordered 16s to try, figuring the new 14s could be the old 10. So disappointing to have a go to brand/style do this. Photo shows my 10 on the bottom and the new 12 on the top.

Love these pants! I sized up as others mentioned. I think I could have fit in smaller but I am very comfortable with it being looser. They are so light and comfy especially in hot weather. I actually looked at size chart and measured myself to determine size...I normally dont wear this size but I think Columbia is cut smaller. Normally I am a 8-10 , I ordered the 12. I may try the size 10 if I order more. I am built more pear shapped and carry weight in hips. Took these hiking out West and even washed it and hung to dry (in my hotel) to wear again- quick drying material. Great for traveling, like wearing pjs! No wrinkles!
