I bought this starter first in May I believe. It was defective because a piece was already broken off when I took it out of the box. There was no problem with the return. I recieved the next one in a few days. Now this one seem to be grinding/dragging and noisy when starting my vehicle. Guess I'll have to put the old one back on. Don't want to trust another one.

Starter fit exactly on 2011 Grand Marquis. Slight bottoming out of starter gear on crank gear of vehicle. Had to elongate mounting holes on starter to allow starter gear from bottoming. Works perfectly.

I installed it on 06/06/2020 not enough time to know it's longevity at this time 07/21/2020. So far it is performing flawlessly. And is well built and is equal to O.E.M. ( Original Equipment Manufacturer ) Ease of installation is 3 star's out of 5 . And has nothing to do with the starter. It is simply work to take out the old and put in the new. So in closing you can't beat the price and quality I highly recommend it.

So far so good. Just installed it today, my second starter in four months. The last one I bought was a Bosch brand starter that I bought for the brand name, but the solenoid quit on me already. This one turns the engine over super fast! Works great

A replacement starter for my 2004 Crown Victoria P71 (police) was roughly $119.00 at my local parts store. The problem I was having (and had been having for some time) was, when started the car would make a loud screeching noise. I had thought like many other people (posts and forums on line) that this was a belt slipping and or the bearing on the belt tensioner. I had replaced the belt and the tensioner without any positive results. In last few weeks, when starting the car, when the key was turned to the start position you could hear a slight clunk and then nothing. You could then turn the key all the way back to the accessory position and again back to the start position and the car would start normally. My first thought was, well the ignition is wearing out. I tried moving the key/tumbler assembly around in the start position but this did nothing and the ignition assembly appeared to be tight. After ruling out the battery and cable connections, I ordered this starter. It arrived in just a couple of days and once installed the screeching and starting problem were gone. The slight clunk I had been hearing was the starter gear trying to mesh with the flywheel and not aligning properly on the first crank. The screeching noise was the starter gear not completely disengaging from the flywheel when started. This starter spun over much faster and all noises and problems have ceased. I thought I'd share this with anyone having a similar problem as I've not ever had a starter make this type of noise before going out. This starter works well and was more than half the price of anything I could get locally.
