These work well in a 68 inch doorway and are mounted along with a door unit. Visitors who have seen them have said they look very good. I like the mounting without screws. Still it is a very solid mount and the gate is easy to use.

Ok...this whole system is pretty good so far. In one opening, which was about 6 or 7 feet I am no longer in that house and have forgotten the exact measurements) I used one 14 inch extension and one 39 inch extension with the gate. The extensions go together easily and appear to be very sturdy. The gate opens easily.The only difficulty I had was in the actual size of the extensions WITH THE WALL ATTACHMENTS. Be careful when you measure because the wall attachments take up an additional 1-2 inches on each end of the whole structure. I was able to use only the glue attachments for the first area where I placed the gate setup because there really was no room to set the more permanent screw in wall attachments.With the second doorway opening I had to return one of the 14 inch attachments and exchange it for the 10 inch attachment because of the aforementioned problem. Also...make sure you do NOT have the quarter round molding on the bottom of the wall because the structure necessitates direct contact with the floor all the way across its width...You can have molding, but it must be flat, not quarter round. So, in the second opening I had to remove the quarter round molding cut out an area for the gate attachment and replace it.The whole structure is actually attractive so no worries about that.

These extensions (and the gate as well) are among the best I've run into. I'm using the system to block a 70" wide hallway opening. I didn't want to put giant drywall anchors in our rental house, but I was leery about a friction mount system for an opening that big. This system works great. Many friction mount gates have issues with the latches aligning well which results in the gate hanging up and being difficult to open/shut unless it's lined up exactly perfect. Many also don't stay lined up "exactly perfect" for more than a couple days and you constantly have to fiddle with them or deal with the gate being hard to open/shut. That's a pain when you've got a 6yr old who doesn't have the strength to work the gate unless it's operating smoothly and you need it to stay shut to corral an 18mo old. This has been my experience with many normal sized gates so I was pretty cynical about using the extensions for a large opening. My faith in humanity has been restored a little bit now though. This gate system is sturdy, easy to setup, doesn't require holes in you walls, accommodates baseboards easily, and operates smoothly. I'm a happy camper.
