I'm an old 6-string guitar player who is giving up his dream of the spotlights of playing lead. I tried Bass and found that I didn't have the reach for the larger friends. I discovered I've been as mikro bass and it is perfect. Yeah Ibanez products that I own have always been a good quality this guitar is no exception. Definitely a good value!

Starting off with the guitar itself, it sounds great, easy to frett if you have small hands.Bought this unit refurbished. It came in a box haphazardly taped together almost falling apart and the set up was quite awful. Action was way too low, , truss rod too tight, so the frett buzzed even playing an open string. Too an hour or so to fix.Now the worst part, I noticed the output jack to be quite loose and free spinning, removed the back panel to get to the wiring and saw an awful soldering job, whoever owned it last did not know what they were doing. Neutral and ground wires were poorly stripped and barely attached on to potentiometer and the jack with a tiny bit of solder. The basement guitar itself is good, would buy new instead of trying to save 10 or 20 dollars getting a liked new refurbished

Ibanez is synonymous with quality products and this bass is high on quality at a bargain price. This is my first bass and at an entry level I wanted a short fret board and one my smaller hands could easily and comfortably navigate. The gloss black finish is beautiful and the silver hardware compliments the black finish perfectly. I can sit on my couch with no strap attached and the bass sits comfortably on my thigh and is perfectly balanced as I play. The body has a good solid feel to it........yet it is only about seven pounds. The pickup configuration has warm lows and a nice hi midrange that makes for a nice clean tone.I already own an Ibanez GR120-EX electric guitar and the GSRM bass is a great addition to my collection. I highly recommend this bass for any entry level player and I recommend all Ibanez products for all players or collectors. For the price, this bass is an instrument that will last a lifetime if treated well. Music is life......live well.

I ve been looking at a number of inexpensive short scale basses as of late and i am so glad i went with this one even having not tried it in person before hand. I ve played bass for 35 years and have owned well over 40 basses. I currently play on two series I alembics( fretted and fretless) but needed a bass i could take around most anywhere without worrying about losing a costly and amazing instument. I had tried out a few other short scaled basses(the fender bronco and jaguar, and others) but i just didnt like the feel and limited tone possibilities i found on these instrument. I have had both fender and ibanez basses in the past and was pleased them all, but these short scaled basses just didnt offer what i was looking for. So i took a leap of faith and bought the mikro unseen/unplayed. I love it!! The tiny neck has a very smooth feel to it and plays quite fast. As far as tone goes..well, i wasnt expecting too much. I played back the first recordings i did with it and was blown away by the versitility it displayed!! Ranging from deep reggae tones to bright snappy tones great for rock or jazz both plucking and slapping! The only issue i have with the bass after 5 days of playing with it is that a couple of the pick-up height adjustment screws are either misaligned or just contrary, but i imagine that it is something easily addressed and overcome. All in all, i am very impressed with this little bass and all it brings to the mix! Its tonal versitility far surpasses that of the other basses i encountered in this scale length/price range. Its playability is wonderful and the feel of the neck is great! And the light weight is a godsend(i bet its no more than 1/3 the weight of my alembics!)I would heartily recomend this instrument for either the beginner or the more advanced player looking for a small new bass to play with, or just for something a "little" different!
