I wouldn't have bothered to write a review on this, but I disagree with some others and want to provide another perspective.I bought this Jabsco 50880-1000 to replace the 37202-0000 that's discontinued, including parts. The older pump has similar specs, but all metal construction that had not materially corroded in a saltwater environment over its 18 year life. Its valving was damaged due to debris from the sump tank it was tasked to empty.The 50880 uses a much simpler, much lower RPM pump with larger valves to do its thing and is much quieter than the older unit as a result. I have no idea if the 50880 will last as long as I installed it yesterday. It does empty the sump tank a little quicker despite its slightly lower flow spec, but this no doubt is due to the age and condition of the 37202. The largely plastic construction of the 50880 is off-putting, but it obviously won't corrode and the blue plastic adjustment ring is more than strong enough if you don't over-torque it. Consider the torque required to remove it when re-attaching. This ring allows the input/output connectors to be rotated continuously though its 360 deg. range.The 12V 50880 pulls an average 4.5 amps pumping water and 2 amps run dry. This is about 55% of the current draw of the 37202.I'm only awarding (4) stars because I don't know how long it will last. It is a far better performing pump than the 37202 in every way.

Finally a pump that doesn't require me opening the floorboard to clean the stupid inline filter ! This pump user for a boat shower is perfect !
