Good clips but kinda weak, bent during installation hope they hold

this type of sink clips is the worst design possible. bolts are soft iron and easily worn out, even before snugged. clips only engage one thread and although they have fangs, they do not bite into the countertop. more over, since they are hardened, one cannot bend the fangs to their job - doing so will shatter them. and when installed, they slip scratching the surface. this works not too bad for thin countertops but - is just miserable on a 1.5" thick butcherblock. so after messing with it for a while, i decided to scrap the idea and come up with substitute. went back to hardware store and got aluminum L profile that matches the countertop thickness, cut few pieces and drilled hole for bolt. turns out M6x45 bolt fits perfectly into existing slot. picture shows test fit before getting stainless steel bolts and locking washers. this is FAR superior to original clamps. it was super easy to install and without any downsides. it effortlessly squeezed silicon bead to a thin layer - something that original clamps failed to do. original bolts were getting damaged (both thread and screw driver slot) so protective coating was stripped exposing soft to potential water damage. and since this is using aluminum bracket and stainless steel bolts there is no rust even if the area would ever get exposed to moisture.

the screw is made of cheap metal and breaks before you even get it tight do not buy!! will ask for money back.
