I looked (for too long) at all the options out there for camping dinnerware. What is best? Ceramic? Plastic? Stainless? Well, there are pros/cons with all I suppose, but I am so glad I got these. They travel well and are easy to clean. At first, I worried about the plates getting too hot to hold and thought "why didn't I think of that?" BUT! It is actually great to have a plate that will warm up because it helps keep the food warm longer. It didn't get too hot to hold, but I thought if it did, I would just get a towel. Still, we had a hot meal and hot beans on plate and bowl and it was warm to hold, not too hot. Hot oatmeal stayed warmer longer in the morning - which was good since it was 42 degrees outside! Having the 3 utensils on a carabiner is perfect to keep them together! There are 3 in my family but only the option of a 1, 2, or 4 person set. The 2 person was on backorder so I ordered 3 of the 1 person sets (just $7 more) and I'm glad I did because all 3 sets fit in one of the mesh bags and then I had 2 nice mesh bags to put other things in. I put in the dish soap, sponges, and drying towels in one and then all the headlamps and small tent lights and batteries in the other one. Easy and sturdy to carry. And the dinnerware will last forever! Yay! Great purchase!

This mess kit was much better than the first one I bought for my son to go to Scout Camp for a week. The first one was plastic and the cup and spork broke after only 2 days. This stainless steel set was very durable. You can also put a name on it with permanent marker and it holds up to the bleach-water sanitizing done at camp. Also, you get a real fork, knife, and spoon. Only two things to be aware of - first, the plate is more like a large, flat bowl and some of the food may run together. Second, do not put hot food in the bowl or plate if you are holding them on your lap and have shorts on. The metal heats up quickly if the food is recently removed from the campfire. Overall we are very happy with this mess kit. A good value for the price.

Bought these to use in a 2-week trip to Iceland. The dishes worked very well and were easy to clean. Just realize they get very hot to handle when you put hot food in them, because they are metal. The carrying case was also very handy. The only thing I thing we didn't care for was the cutlery. Seemed a little on the thin side with hard edges. We ended up using heavy duty plastic/acrylic cutlery that we had brought with us.

I bought the two person set and took it camping a couple of weeks ago. Super nice set, very strong and sturdy and super easy to clean in seconds. The cups are perfect size for both adult and child. The silverware is awesome (the knife can definitely cut through regular meat). I highly recommend this set to anyone looking for a nice set. Well worth every cent spent. The carrying bag is also super nice. The logo is etched in the bag and on the set. The plates and bowels are deep enough to hold soup and spaghetti and meatballs with plenty room to spare :) Absolutely LOOOOVE this set. We will definitely have this for the next 20yrs or so. I bought this for my daughter and I camping with the boy scouts :)
