Pros:Nice little kit.Comes with both straight and curved needlesIncludes cloth and little scissors to cut it. The scissors come with a little tip to protect them.Has two bone folders. (I think that’s what they are called anyway.)Came with a glue brush.The book cloth was easy to cut and lays down good on the paper. Didn’t have any issues glueing it to the book.Cons:I noticed that the scissors don’t close all the way. The tip remains separated.Comments:Not sure how to feel about the glue brush however. It did work super good. I just didn’t expect the glue to dry as quick as it did and I haven’t been able to get the glue to wash off the brush very good.

This is a solid starter kit for bookbinding. I haven’t seen very many that include the mull fabric for the spine (the coarse, cheesecloth-like fabric included in the kit), or a glue brush. The brush’s appearance made me concerned I might get bristles in the glue, but after feeling the bristles they appear secure. There are a variety of upholstering needles of various sizes and thicknesses, some of which I am a little concerned may be too thick for a standard awl-punched signature. The two included “bone” folders are plastic for those who care about the difference, comparable to others I have encountered, and I have experienced no issues making good creases with them. The included scissors are a nice set for precise crafts, and are both sharp, and of a good tightness.You will still need to buy your own waxed thread, your own awl (or use a thumbtack), as well as your own glue, chipboard, and cover cloth, as the kit does not include these pieces, and they are necessary to create a complete book.I recommend this if you want to pick up the mull at a reasonable price, and don’t already have a brush or bone folders (or you need to replace your existing ones). 5 stars because the items I received were of good quality, well-packaged and presented, and exactly as-described in the listing.

Decent cloth to strengthen the spine. The needles come in straight and curved and are thick and strong. No complaints.
