Gives a nice gentle warmth - perfect as my dog sleeps in air con at 16 degrees. Not sure it'd be warm enough if in a very cold environment. Uses low amount of electricity.

Una de mis gatitas es muy friolenta y la notaba que en tiempo de frio buscaba dormirse encima del capo de mi coche, desde que se lo compré se la pasa muy agusto, sú única queja es que a veces olvido conectarlo, muy recomendable!

I highly recommend the entire K&H Manufacturing line of heated pads, replacement pads, indoor outdoor pads, the lot. We do wildlife rescue, along with fostering critical care, neonates, and special needs animals, we have used these constantly for well over a decade now. They are practically indestructible, under normal conditions, but even a heavy chewer will kill these, if you allow it.I have used these, literally for years, non stop, 24/7. Love that they are super low energy use, DO NOT TURN OFF, and are incredibly versatile; we have yet to have a single one fail, at last count, we currently own 14 of this particular style of replacement bed heater. We are owned by 11 dogs and a cat, all of whom seek warmth, even when it is 30+ degrees out, still preferring to be under the polar fleece blankets. Despite the multiple, different (now) heated dog beds, the favorite one is our old futon couch we converted into one giant, communal pet bed!Put on a fitted sheet, then a thick polar fleece blanket, use rope to ensure it stays in place (when folded into couch) down the central crease. Place these heating pads between the fitted sheet and the polar fleece, along the "seat" of the couch, cover with the polar fleece blanket, and tuck it in on the sides, bottom and top. If you have MY dogs, you will then need to add a second polar fleece blanket or two on top so they can burrow in, and be covered on all sides.Or I guess you could use it as intended to replace a failed unit or turn any pet bed into a heated one....either way, I have used these in multiple ways (strapped to my office chair or recliner...), for years, and not had one fail me yet. The heat never varies, no cycling on/off, no more hot/warm/cool, no waking up to that insufferable auto shut off, nope, none of that. Just put in place, plug it in, and warm, gentle heat....I highly recommend the entire K&H Manufacturing line of heated pads, replacement pads, indoor outdoor pads, the lot. You may pay more up front (and YES, I have tried less expensive alternatives, all of which died within a year), but this is an electrical appliance that will stay plugged in, for years, permanently turned on and used by your pet. It is not worth having one fail at a critical time or worse yet, have an electrical fault that could cause serious harm to all; spend the money, get a reliable, trustworthy product that will operate hassle free for years, if not decades (many of mine are older than 10 years).HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are looking for a "heating pad" that is safe, inexpensive to operate, runs 24/7 and is completely reliable.

These pads are simple, plug in, and they are on, and stay on, until you unplug them. They stay a constant temperature and never cycle up and down or shut off and use a ridiculously tiny amount of energy. Are they pricey, yep, but as I have YET to have one of these vinyl (?) pads fail me, and have used them for well over a decade, I can assure you they are absolutely worth the money.Technically they are replacement pads for their heated pet beds, although why you would ever need to replace them (not a one has failed on me yet in over a decade) is beyond me; perhaps it is so you can use them in OTHER manufacturers heated beds or take a regular bed and create a heated bed...I use them to turn human furniture, such as couches, into large, heated pet beds ( yep that is what you do when you are owned by 13 dogs!). I just lay them in a row down the futon couch, cover with a fitted sheet, then a polar fleece blanket and presto, a giant heated pet bed. If only you could see the looks on the faces of visitors who sit on the dog couch as their butt slowly heats up.........priceless!!!Okay, the facts: these use hardly any energy, and a little goes a long way, meaning, you really do not need a pad that fits the entire pets bed, half or less is more than enough. I know, I get it, you think more is better, WRONG. I tried that, replacing the tiny 6x6 pads in the 21 inch beds with larger ones and guess what, they were abandoned. As soon as I put the small ones back in, the animals went back to them. This also addresses how most folks think they are not warm enough...oh, they are, you just are not sitting or laying on them. When they are compressed against an insulated base and/or sandwiched by a living body, they are plenty warm, it just will not FEEL like it when you quickly place your hand on the bed it is installed in, but if you SIT on it, within moments you will understand how powerful these units are.I have yet to be disappointed by ANY K&H product...I own half a dozen heated water bowls, dozens EACH of their heated hard pads, the lectro soft heated pads and these soft pads. Not a single soft pad has failed on me yet; some are already much older than 10 yrs, and are in use 24/7, 365 days a year, non stop for all that time.PS: in winter, I lay a blanket over my recliner and tuck one of these in behind for warmth and to soothe my aching back.

This is perfect for my senior cat who loves to sleep stretched out. The warmer gives just the right amount of warmth for him on cold nights.

Technically these are for inserting into a pet bed to replace or create a heated bed. Myself, I use two of them on an old futon, set up in couch mode, beneath a fitted polar fleece or flannel sheet so that the dogs have a "heated couch".I love that the wattage or electrical usage is so low (the 15.75 X 25 inch uses just 22 watts - or one third of a standard 60 watt lightbulb) that I really do not see a difference on the electric bill; they always stay on (unlike "human heating pads" that turn off) and remain at a specific dog/cat friendly temperature of 86 degrees (unheated the couch is just 63 degrees), and I do not worry about fire as these are designed specifically for this use. As my dogs like to burrow and have blankets on top I then drape a second thick, fleece blanket over top of the couch and they have a nice, warm, cozy den that everyone can share.Yes, they are pricey, but compared to what heated beds cost, it is reasonable. I find this is a great alternative, and eliminates the need for tons of floor space dedicated to dog beds that definitely change the tone of the room. Plus, in spite of all the other heated dog beds on offer, the couch (likely due to it being higher, my dogs love NOT being on the floor) is always their first choice.FYI, they do work great for humans too - turns a recliner into a lovely heated back or seat! And our guest always comment on how nice having the heated sofa to sit on is (they do not realize it is the giant dog bed!).
