The lock is great, programming is easy, really handy for a short term rental. The major issue is that it needs new batteries ever 4-6 weeks and will die without warning most of the time. I had a new one sent out under warranty and it was no better than the first one. The manufacture only gives a one year warranty on the electronics which is pretty poor. I'll be tossing these in the near future. Only buy if you have stock in a battery company.

Es súper fácil de usar y lo más importante, es que se puede usar desde distancia usando Wi-Fi, el problema que vi , es que aveces no es fácil emparejar con el celular, pero haciendo varios intentos lo logre , me gusto mucho

I am giving this five stars right now where it could also be four stars. So the install is very easy. If you never replaced locks on a door the instructions they give is straight forward. The set-up once they are installed is also very simple and straight forward. I have had these installed for about two weeks. After the first five days when I went to unlock them with the app, it showed them as not connected to the internet. I tried to soft restart them by removing the battery but they never reconnected. I ended up fully factory resetting them and they reconnected and as of now they have been good. Now I do use a mesh wifi and instructions say they need a 2.4 GHz connection. I have other products that say the same and haven't had any issues with connection, so I hope this was a one time thing. If it happens again, I will create a 2.4 GHz only one and see how that goes. But with all that being said, the physical buttons work fine and the Google home integration works fine too. You need to set a pin for Google to unlock them. But you don't with the app. Speaking of the app, it's not bad but does seem to hangup quite a bit. I wondered if the connection issue I had was a problem caused by the app. I have used the app to try and unlock them but sometimes it doesn't work. When I use Google home to it will work. So again, I think it's the app that just sometimes doesn't work. But it is easy to use, to set up pins and users. I do wish there was a notification option on the app to select what type of notifications to receive. If you have the notifications on from your phone settings you will get a ton for every time the door locks or unlock. I wish you could limit those. I would only want notifications for my battery life or lost of connection. Something that I didn't find in the guide but stumbled on it myself is turning on the backlit for the keypad. In the app setting there is a option to turn the keypad sound off, by doing so you turn the backlight on. So if you have the sound on, there is no backlight. But if you have the sound off, you get backlight. I prefer the backlit option for when it's dark out. I will mention the backlights only come on when you press a button and doesn't stay on. Also these do come with a key and it's easy to rekey a existing one. Unfortunately my keys were to thick to work but I bought two of these for my front and back door, and re-keyed one do them to work for both doors. I will be sure keep this updated to see if there are any more connection issues and how the battery holds up. But I do really likes these and it's nice to have different options to unlock them.Update 8/24Quick update regarding these locks. I know battery life was estimated at 4-6 months depending on use. I have had both locks with the original batteries over two months and had to replace them already. Now the battery life was at 40% and it would show jammed when closing or opening. I switched out the batteries and that went away. I will see how the new batteries hold up. Otherwise, I still haven't had any connectivity issues since that one time. I have run into a couple of times where I punch my code in, and nothing happens. I punch it in again then it works. But this has been rare. I will continue to update these as time goes on.

I did a lot of homework on purchasing this wifi deadbolt and went with the keypad over the touchpad. I was hesitant as quite a few reviews indicated poor wifi connection and long updates and some other issues. My experience being quite handy and installing for an existing keyed deadbolt is that it was simple, user friendly instructions to install, installed quite easy and straight forward and had absolutely no issue to connect direct by bluetooth to set up wifi connection and the perfectly smooth to hook to wifi and get the firmware update in a reasonable amount of time.My eyes will be on battery consumption as we go forward but if i have to change batteries every month so be it, not a big deal compared to the function of the unit itself and its app that shows every entry and easy to monitor and program for up to 250 diff user codes. Also has the ability to set up a timer for a one-time-use code which is handy if a contractor needs to come and i cannot be around to meet etc. I liked that feature that i was unaware it even had!So, in conclusion at this time of having it installed and operating for just ONE week so far, its a great unit!!

Set up was fairly easy except the lock wouldn't open smoothly. I had to youtube how to fix this (you're supposed to press and hold the reset button while connecting the battery pack so the lock knows to learn which way you're locking - leftwards or rightwards). I downloaded the app and added the lock with no issues, app set up and adding user codes were easy too.I deducted one star because this lock is VERY LOUD. When it locks and unlocks remotely, the sound is much louder than my other keyless lock (also Kwikset). The buttons when you press them are also loud. Maybe this is good so you can hear the buttons and when the door locks/unlocks, but I'm in a condo and personally don't want everyone in my hallway hearing when I come and go via my lock noise. That's just me though.

Compared with my other August lock with optional Key Pad and Wi-Fi bridge that I've installed 3 years ago, right off the back, the Kwikset Halo Wi-Fi smart locks performs way much better and offers much attractive price in a One-Piece solution.1. Compared to the August retrofit of existing deadbolt, the Kwikset replaces the old Deadbolt and works better than August, which at times will get "hang-up" on the keeper and unable to lock. The Halo works seamlessly and works every time.2. On the Halo, Wi-Fi and Numeric pad is fully integrated into the lock hardware and works great. On the August, the optional Numeric pad sucks so much battery that it needs to be replacement very often. The August Wi-Fi bridge ad-on is just a pain in the rear, when Spectrum Internet goes down, the bridge will looses connection and have a hell of a hard time trying to get it connect. The Wi-Fi setup on the Halo is a breeze.3. The Halo apps display the battery status on the APP, while August lock don't show battery status and email you when battery is about to die. Go figure.4. I was able to install the Halo fairly quickly reading the manuals briefly without watch install video on the APP, unlike the August, I've to call support during Wi-Fi bridge installation due to sloppy BlueTooth software stack implementation, the Bluetooth was not compatible with my Motorola Android phone, have to uses a older Android phone. The Wi-Fi setup on the Halo was like a walk in the park.5. Did not have a need to call customer service, unlike August, have to call their overseas based customer support that I've a tough time understanding due to the accent of the customer service rep.6. Overall, the Kwikset apps is easy to use and have all the functions that I needed and works great. I would be replacing the August and other manual locks soon.7. Great product, at a great price. Highly recommended.
