I used this ball head a handful of times and had no issues. Then, all of a sudden, the plate stuck and I could not open/close it. I had to use a pocket knife to wedge it open. Now it seems unpredictable.

Le carenze maggiori sono la non fluidità della vite di blocco sfera ,e rotazione 360.Il pomello è dimensionato ma troppo liscio e vista la rigidità della vite tende a scivolare.Altrimenti sarebbe sufficientemente robusta per obbiettivi pesanti, l'ho tenuta solo perché presa ad un prezzo ottimo e messa su un treppiedi che uso solamente in appostamenti fissi .

Bought two of these for a 9 day trip to the wilds of Finland, photographing from hides with fixed tripod mounts. Bought these particular heads since they seemed so robust and heavy duty enough for a long lens - after all it says it can hold something like ten times the weight of my equipment. They can't.True, they do appear well-made; but when using them in the field they proved both useless and annoying. The main issue is that the tightening knob does not apply sufficient force on the ball to hold the camera in a fixed position, even when tightening it with all your strength. The result is that the camera and lens is prone to suddenly topple or slide over to the side, risking damage to equipment and making noise which scared wildlife. Also, if trying to pan horizontally, it is jerky as if the grease is too stiff (something I know people have experienced with the new type of grease in Neewer's gimbal head)Like I said, solid and well-made but only buy if your camera equipment is quite light
