The necked down area behind the threads allows the washer to move around. It's pure luck to get it in the right place.

The fittings themselves are dimensionally correct and honestly I'd say probably 75% of these regardless of name/brand probably come from the same manufacturing facility.As far as the copper washers/gaskets are concerned, I wouldn't use the ones included with the fittings I received. It was difficult to photograph but the washers essentially have an inner diameter that is too large compared to the base of the fitting. If they shift when you're tightening the fittings into the transmission case there is a good chance you'll end up with a leak. They're also pretty light almost brittle feeling. On another note, when you receive them they have them placed on the AN (outlet) side. That's not how they need to be installed, the copper washer/gasket goes on the case side.
