Set up to a deep cycle battery and a solar trickle charger. So far working well. Just have it placed in for a temporary quick fix. Need to properly install once I over haul the boat. But for now working as expected

Put this in my old boat that is left alone many days and with all this ring, it’s been working extremely well without any concern does exactly what it needs to do. Highly recommend it.

Works great out of the box. The filter screen height is a bit conservative, i.e. it leaves a little too much water behind. Good product overall.

EDIT: The original unit broke after a short time and the seller promptly replaced it. I have not had a chance to test the replacement yet but it's great that the seller has prompt customer service. This is my original review: I was looking at a competing brand that supposedly is made in the USA , but that one had really poor documentation with flow charts in Chinese units. This one is made in China but it actually comes with good documentation in English including flow charts. Good product for half the price.A few installation tips:1) If you use this with a check valve, drill a small 1/16" hole before the check valve so the air can get out. Otherwise if you suck any air, a pocket of air can get trapped before the check valve and then the pump won't prime.2) with 10' cables and a standard battery I wasn't quite getting enough head pressure so I bumped up the voltage with a separate power supply. You can get more pressure with more voltage3) This unit does need to be level for the float to work reliably. Initially I had mine just attached to the hose which kept it in place just fine but it wasn't quite level, and the float would hang up. Sometimes it would fail to turn on and sometimes it would fail to turn off. I got a piece of hardy board that doesn't rot and screwed the pump to that, and that fixed it.Good product, been in use for a month orso now. I got this after my old pump did not draw down the water low enough. This one draws it down nice and low, maybe 1-2".

I installed this pump as a 12v back up for my household voltage sump when the power goes out. It's permanently hooked up to a 12v deep cycle battery adjacent to the sump. I stretched a 1" vinyl hose around the 1 1/8" outflow, then through a check valve to a T in the standard 3/4" ID pvc. I was concerned the pump might not lift the column of water out of the basement, but it has no trouble pushing the water 8 vertical feet and out the foundation - Impressive for something only drawing 3 amps! The plastic strainer feels slightly brittle compared to the higher priced Rule pumps, but this cost half as much. I would use this pump as a non-critical part of a boat bilge pump system, backed up by a higher power and more robust secondary pump. The pump says to use a 5 amp fuse - I wish this was already wired in to the positive lead, or at least included to wire in yourself. These aren't expensive, but I'd rather not have to go looking for it.
