This bit, plus a little bit of a cutting oil, made it's way through some stainless steel. Just be prepared for the kick of the drill and the kick of the object you're drilling through.

Bought this to put a conduit hole in a generator transfer switch, drilled through in about 2 seconds. Great hole saw for metal.

This 3" hole saw is one of a family of same-brand hole saws from Amazon that I already owned but were not large enough for my most recent job. I used this one to cut a hole in a steel electrical enclosure for a large conduit nipple. The resulting hole was neat and smooth. Other sized hole saws of the same-brand have cut smaller holes in flashing, roofing material, HardiePlank® lap siding, steel boxes, steel siding, particle board and lumber.Until now, I have not encountered any material other than stone and masonry that I could not cut dependably and smoothly with this brand of hole saw. Most of these hole saws, including this one, come with an Allen wrench and spare pilot bit that fits the built-in arbor. This is a nice design with very good performance.
