I kind of have a thing about flashlights. Years ago, it was Maglights. I had Maglights in the cars and scattered throughout the house. I then inherited several more. They are still with me, and all have been upgraded with LED bulb kits. Later, I was fascinated by the small, but powerful LED lights powered by expensive CR123A batteries. They were super bright, but they tended to get hot if used for very long, and some had variable power settings, strobes, etc. which meant switching the button several times every time it was turned on to get to the desired setting. I found that to be annoying at times, and sometimes they were just too bright when used working under a cabinet or in a washing machine.I was gifted a Streamlight Stylus Pro LED light that is powered by AAA batteries and was amazed at how compact and bright it is, and how long the batteries last. It provided a surprising amount of light while exploring dim tourist caverns on an overseas trip. I was so impressed, I decided to try it's bigger brother Streamlight Junior that uses AA batteries, and I love it as well. One click on, and one click off. Plenty bright for nearly every task and the batteries last a long time. I should add that AA and AAA batteries are pretty much universal and available in nearly every store. The high powered lithium CR123A batteries for my other lights can be harder to find, especially overseas.I keep my older lights and a supply of batteries around for emergencies, but for day-to-day use, the little Streamlights are my first choice.

I work in the steamfitting and welding industry. This lights give me great clear white light when I'm looking for defects and working in the field. Highly Recommend!

I’ve owned two of these flashlights and have very few complaints. I work as a diesel mechanic so all of my tools take a beating. My first one of these flashlights lasted nearly 5 years before giving any issues. It finally began to have intermittent problems with the button and battery retention spring. I was impressed enough that I purchased a second identical light and immediately put it into service. The light is a handy size, produces excellent light output for its size, is rugged (mine is often used as a small hammer), and simple. The single function, simple on/off switch is a huge selling point for me. I don’t need or want multiple light levels or a strobe. For my work I need the light to come on, and function as expected every time I press the button. Unfortunately this simple design is becoming increasingly difficult to find in quality flashlights. The AA battery power source is extremely convenient and in my usage last roughly 1-2 weeks before becoming too dim to be useful (your mileage may vary). I’ve used both traditional alkaline batteries as well as Energizer Lithium AAs in my light and had zero major issues with either. The lithium batteries provide more consistent light output over a longer period of time. However for me this wasn’t necessarily a positive, as the light would suddenly die giving me no indication that the batteries were nearing the end of their life. The alkaline batteries slowly dim as they draw down giving you a very visible and obvious indicator as to when you should change your batteries. This isn’t an issue with the light however, just a fact of life when using lithium batteries. My only real complaints are with the light’s lens and the nylon holster. If you plan to use the holster go ahead and replace it with a nicer option. In my experience the nylon holsters quickly broke apart and began to shred, eventually falling completely apart (often within the first few months of use). I upgraded to a custom leather holster that has lasted for years now. Next, the lens on the light is plastic. This is a plus when considering impact resistance as you’ll likely never break it. However if you work in the automotive industry be very careful using brake cleaner or carb cleaner to wipe the light down. Both chemicals will immediately cause the lens to fog up. This negatively affects the light’s output and beam pattern. If you’re looking for a daily use work light or EDC light look no further. This flashlight will serve you well for many years.
